The frets were a very comfortable size (smallish-good for chords and single note bends, etc.). I remember playing a pre-"upgrade" hwy 1 tele in a shop in Weymouth, MA that had a superb neck and very nice pickups back in 2003. It looks Killer It shows no.I HATE THE JUMBO FRETS/STOCK PICKUPS. 4.992007 Fender Stratocaster Highway 1 Limited Edition: This guitar was a limited edition with Custom Shop69 pickups and aged plastic.
When I bought it, someone had installed a Seymour Duncan small bridge humbucker that had a split coil toggle switch and the very dark and muddy hwy 1 single coil in the neck. I somehow decided on a used hunk of junk hwy 1 tele-version 2 that I would change the pickups on. I bought it new in 2007, but I think it had been kicking around in the shop for a year or two as it has a 1960s-style small headstock, and at some point around 2006 the Highway One range was revamped, with the Strats getting bigger, ’70s-style headstocks (and hotter pickups).Fast forward to 2009, I had sold my mij 72 custom reissue (needed a lot of work) and wanted more of a traditional tele.

I cant find anything anywhere that tells me what do and i dont want to take me guitar apart for no. The pots are Gibson 500k that I left in from the previous owner, so there is that extra dimension of highs. The control pots on fender highway 1 strat have started to become very loose and wobbling around. It sounds very very clean and powerfull with lots of character.
The marketing goon says "the highway one line was introduced in 2000, and since then, it has been wildly successful" gee, I wonder why. I also have the v2 strat-same story- frets are like railroad spikes and the pickups were dull (changed those things- now it's awesome) Duhhh Fender. This promotional video came out when Fender "improved" the highway 1 line. The company no longer produces Highway 1 guitars. I am learning how to level frets and re-crown and polish and I plan on doing this to the frets soon, I just need some more practice. The line was very successful through the 2000s, but Fender messed with the original design so much, they became unpopular and sales drastically dropped. I need to be able to feel the wood under my fingertips when I play.
